From January 2007 our pool night will change to Wednesday nights at 9.15pm. We have the pool for 1 hour.

The two remaining pool sessions for 2006 remain unchanged, namely:

Thursday 7th December at 9.45pm
Thursday 14th December at 9.45pm.

We’re hoping to organise a pool activity for Thursday 14th…murder ball, underwater hockey, suggestions?

The first pool sessions of 2007 will be on Wednesday 10th January.

There is a rescue course on this Saturday 29th July. If you are interested in attending this course please contact Mike Whitty asap.

There will be a regional rescue test on saturday 26th of august.

Anyone that attended the rescue course earlier this year and would like to be considered for this test should email Mike Whitty for more details.

Just a quick reminder of things you need to bring to any CFT course/test you go on.

• Your logbook with the specific course/test section signed by Mike (Dive Officer);
• Your CFT membership card with photo and signature;
• A letter from Mike recommending you for the course;
• Any other pre-requisites as noted on the CFT courses and test booklet.

Pay particular attention to the fact that Mike needs to sign your logbook and write a letter recommending you for the course! If you turn up without this you may be turned away. If you planning to go on a course then you need to talk to Mike beforehand so that he can get you the correct paperwork.

An Underwater Photography course will take place on Saturday, May 27th in DCU from 0900 to 1800. The course costs €150 with a booking deposit of €50 required in advance. The course is being run as a fund-raiser for DCU Sub Aqua Club. Further information can be had by contacting Brian Stone (DCU Sub Aqua Club).

A Diver Medic course is being organised in Coolmine Swimming Pool on Saturday, April 1st - not an April’s Fool joke!  Also a trip to the National Hyperbaric Centre is being organised by Aer Lingus Sub Aqua Club on Saturday, April 8th. Please contact Louise (Training Officer) for more information regarding both events.

A demonstration on using the compressors will take place at 9:00p.m. on Thursday, March 23rd at the Boat House in Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Centre. Please contact Louise (Training Officer) if you wish to attend.

A Rescue Diver course takes place in Dublin City University on April 4th and 5th at 7:00p.m. The venue is Room QG02 in the Business School. Those wishing to attend should contact Mike (Dive Officer). A Club Diver examination will be scheduled shortly. Those who complete this examination will be eligible to attend the Rescue Diver course. Full details regarding the Club Diver examination will be posted shortly.
