Portmarnock Sub Aqua Club (PSAC) was founded in 1983 with the objective of bringing the sport of Scuba Diving to North County Dublin.  Since its foundation it has grown to a 50+ member club with an age profile which ranges from late teens to 60s and has an even male/female split.  We even hold a World Record!

The club is affiliated to the Irish Underwater Council (Comhairle Fó-Thoinn or CFT) which was founded in 1963 and is the co-ordinating body for underwater diving clubs in Ireland.  CFT is the representative body for Ireland in the World Underwater Federation (Confédération Mondiale des Activitiés Subaquatiques or CMAS).

The club is based at the Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Centre (PSLC) and maintains a boat house adjacent to the Centre housing all club equipment - Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), inflatables, compressors (Nitrox), trailers etc.  Please click here for directions to the Centre.

The 2010 AGM took place in the Portmarnock Sports & Leisure Centre on Tuesday, October 28th.  Many thanks to all members of the out-going committee for their sterling service to the club during the year.  See the Committee Page for details of the new committee for 2010/11. 

A Fancy Dress Dinner & Dance will take place in the Portmarnock Golf Links Hotel on Saturday, October 16th.  Tickets €25 per person.  Contact a member of the Committee for further information or to purchase tickets.

Many thanks to Les for his excellent work in updating the club logo.  I think you’ll agree he’s done a fantastic job in retaining all the ingredients of the old logo while giving it a contemporary feel.  It now takes pride of place on the web banner along with the CFT and CMAS logos. 

An evening out to celebrate the club’s 25th Anniversary will take place on October 10th at the Quay 16 restaurant aboard the M.V. Cill Airne.  Contact a member of the committee if interested in attending

The 2008 AGM will take place in the Graham Bell Suite of the Grand Hotel, Malahide on September 24th, 2008 at 8:00pm.  Please let Cathal know if you are interested in putting your name forward for a committee position.

On May 10th, Howth Coast Guard hosted the JSAR (Joint Search & Rescue) Games 2008 between Irish and Northern Irish Coast Guards. Portmarnock Sub Aqua Club assisted with the logistical operation and had two RIBs on the water as well as a hosting an exhibit in the tented village.  Click here for some shots from the day.
