A PSAC reconnaissance party travelled to Miltown Malbay over the weekend for some diving with the newly opened PADI West Coast Diving Centre.  Managed by Paul McCabe and John Flynn, the centre is based 1 mile outside Miltown Malbay with all dives departing from the nearby White Strand beach where the centre keeps its 6.3m RIB moored.  Conditions over the weekend were ideal with flat calm seas and superb weather.  We had two spectacular dives on Saturday at Brandon reef adjacent to Mutton Island.  Dinner and a few beers on Saturday night were enjoyed in the Old Bake House Restaurant and Hillary’s Bar respectively – I’d recommend the Sea Bass in the former.  On Sunday the initial PASC party was joined by John G and Ciaran who travelled down for the day.  After the first dive at Cill Stiofain, we took a blast over to the Cliffs of Moher to enjoy the view from the water.  After lunch we returned to the water for a dive with Miltown’s resident dolphin – a fabulous experience.  Click here for further information regarding West Coast Diving.
